Guided ride #2 Edgar de Wit & Renee Prins

February 28, 2018 - Landscape of Education

Today I talked with Edgar & Renee, both working for the Betasteunpunt Zuid-Holland. During a guided ride session (combination between explaining insights and research and reflecting on the topic: landscape of education) we discovered a common ground in the mission to innovate education by creating connections.

Research institute Common Eye researched the networks of schools. They discovered that school who are in more networks, are delivering better results. The dataset of this research is given to me to come up with a new view on education, a new landscape to reveil. They are very enthousiastic about my approach and possible outcome. They offer me the opportunity to do an intervention with their beta coordinates, who they meet next week!!

Their reflection on the axes made me choose four axes for this session. They don’t think that school and team are on the same line, so that axe should change. They also believe that trends in education trigger movement in de model. They marked with 1 and 2 what they believe is IN (1) en OUT (2). There are happy with this axes because it triggers conversation. Not about what is best, but about what is possible.

For the session I decided to redesign the axe with school/team towards a triangle. They filled in the sheet for the position of the Betasteunpunt and offered new collaborations with other researchers and schools. We are on the move!
